Part-time Dispatcher

Position Objectives

Dispatcher is responsible to provide emergency and non-emergency dispatch center services for Red Lake County. Operates telephone and radio communication systems; dispatches law enforcement, ambulance and fire services; communicates with the general public; and performs record keeping and related work.

This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule and limited guaranteed hours. However, the successful applicant will have opportunities to work additional shifts when covering for employees who are absent due to vacation, illness, or other leave. The role requires availability to work evenings, nights, and weekends, as well as the ability to accept and fill shifts on short notice when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Desired Qualifications

  • Applicants should have sufficient knowledge of the street and highway systems and geography of their coverage area in order to assist or direct law enforcement, fire or medical personnel with response to various calls
  • Applicant must have a background in computer usage and be able to communicate well with others.
  • Must be able to learn new skills and obtain required training and certifications.
