What can a crime victim advocate do for you?

People often times have questions about criminal justice procedures, investigations, prosecutions, and witness trial preparation. An Advocate can answer your questions and address your concerns. Together, we will ensure that our justice system protects the rights of victims. A crime victim advocate can:

  • Advise you of your rights
  • Explain the criminal prosecution process
  • Notify you of dates and times of hearings or trials
  • Meet with you and prosecuting attorney in victim conferences
  • Notify you of plea offers and plea agreements
  • Assist you in preparing to be a witness
  • Accompany you to a pre-trial visit to Courtroom
  • Accompany you to Court hearings or trials
  • Assist you with victim impact statement
  • File restitution and reparations
Community Presentations

Red Lake County Victim Services is available to provided presentations to small groups in Red Lake County.  If you are interested in a presentation, please contact our office at 218 253 4668.
